Off: Kansas City Chiefs (8-1) and New York Jets (x-x)

Chiefs: A season ago, Andy Reid’s Chiefs open the year 6-4 and struggling to find themselves on the defensive side of the ball…again. Since then and including the team’s three-game championship run last January and February, Kansas City has won 17 of its last 18 games, with a wild 42-30 home loss to the Raiders the lone blemish. Patrick Mahomes has been nothing short of sensational, throwing 25 touchdown passes and turning over the football only once in nine games. Steve Spagnuolo’s run defense needs work but this versatile club has so many different ways to beat you. The Chiefs have scored 35 total touchdowns – including three defensive/special teams’ scores.

Jets: Adam Gase’s team was highly competitive against the faltering Patriots on Monday night but the team still found a way to blow a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter on the way to a 30-27 setback. The Jets are 0-9 for the first time in their long history and the league’s lone winless club. The team’s offensive unit has reached the end zone just 10 times while Gase’s squad has committed the same amount of turnovers. The defense has shown flashes on occasion and can be opportunistic but Gregg Williams’ group has been somewhat overly-aggressive at times and those mistakes have proved costly at times as well. The Jets have allowed 28 offensive touchdowns.
