Washington Football Team (2-6) at Detroit Lions (3-5), 1:00 pm

Washington: Both of the team’s wins this season have come at home this season and against their division rivals from Philadelphia and Dallas. Nick Ashooh of Yahoo! Sports talks Alex Smith, who’s expected to get the start vs. the Lions. Washington has dropped five consecutive road games dating back to Week 14 of ’19 (0-3 in 2020).

Lions: Matt Patricia’s club was overrun last week at Minnesota as the Vikings totaled 275 yards on the ground. Only two tears in the league have allowed more yards per game rushing than the Lions (148.1), who have also given up 13 TD runs this season. Washington is ranked 29th in the NFL in rushing but that could certainly change.

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-7) at Green Bay Packers (6-2), 1:00 pm

Jaguars: Michael DiRocco of ESPN reports that rookie Jake Luton will start his second consecutive game. A week ago, he and the team fell short at home to the Texans. The bigger issue for Doug Marrone’s team is whether it can get pressure on Aaron Rodgers, who’s been sacked just nine times. The Jaguars have eight QB traps this season.

Packers: Following an unexpected home loss last week to the Vikings, the team bounced back four days later and handled the injury-plagued 49ers at San Francisco. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the offense continue to put up impressive numbers for a team that has committed an NFL-low three turnovers – zero in Green Bay’s six victories.
