In a truly unusual feat for a cornerback, Carr has started 192 straight games in his career, ending up in the starting lineup in every game from 2008 to 2019 over his time with the Chiefs, Ravens, and Cowboys. That streak came to an end this year, however, as Carr played three anonymous games with Dallas before being released. Signing a corner who was deemed unfit for that awful defense sounds like a bad move, but Carr could still be able to help the Eagles.

The Eagles were banking on the likes of Avonte Maddox and Nickell Robey-Coleman beefing up what has been a lackluster secondary. Outside of new addition Darius Slay and some encouraging moments from rookie K’Von Wallace, very few of those secondary members have been pulling their weight.

Even if the Eagles decide Carr is at that stage in a defensive backs life where he needs to move to safety, there is no such thing as too much secondary help in the modern NFL. Carr was released because the Cowboys wanted to get younger, not necessarily because he couldn’t cut it at the NFL level. The hated Eagles could pounce on Dallas’ bad decision by inking Carr to a deal.
