Mavericks have inquired about Zach LaVine, Spencer Dinwiddie and Victor Oladipo

The Dallas Mavericks want to add another star guard.
As impressive as budding superstar Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are, it’s become painfully clear that this roster doesn’t have a ton of game-changers outside of Kristaps Porzingis. Sensing that Dallas’ championship window is starting to creak open before Luka’s eventual mammoth contract extension limits them financially, the Mavericks are trying everything they can to get him one more star.
Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer is reporting that the Mavericks are trying to go big-game hunting to find Luka a third star, contacting the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, and Brooklyn Nets about trades for guards Zach LaVine, Victor Oladipo, or Spencer Dinwiddie.
The Mavericks need more perimeter scoring, and all three of these guys could fill that hole
Oladipo is the most likely of the three to get traded, as he has been asking around about potential trade destinations amid constant upheaval in Indiana. With Oladipo serving as both one of the best defensive players in the league and a consistent 20 points per game scorer, Oladipo would be perfectly suited for a co-star role in Dallas.
Dinwiddie averaged 20.6 points per game and remains one of the most underrated players in the entire league, but he could see his production slip following the return of Kevin Durant and the emergence of Caris LeVert. With two years left on his deal, Dinwiddie could help Dallas contend right away.
LaVine might be the most productive of the three, having put up 25.5 points per game last year on a subpar Bulls team, but it’s unlikely the Bulls deal him unless they get blown away by Dallas’ package.
The Mavericks know they have something special in Doncic, and they don’t want his prime years to go to waste by failing to surround him with the right pieces.
