If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. During Kenny Atkinson’s tenure with the Nets, he molded Harris from a G League player and a Cavaliers castoff into one of the NBA’s best shooters. While Atkinson may be gone, that doesn’t mean Harris should leave Brooklyn, as he could once again play an integral role on a Nets team that was in the bottom half of the league in three-point percentage despite being among the league leaders in threes.

The Nets might trade away some spare parts as they try to find a potential third star to pair with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, but the need for more sharpshooting on the outside is still there, and Harris could help them check that box.

While the Nets are casting away some of their pre-KD identity, Harris stands as an example of what the Nets can do for players from a player development standpoint, as he has become one of the better role-playing guards in the game. Rather than let him go to a rival and get nothing in return, Brooklyn should embrace their homegrown stud and keep him in town as they chase a championship.
