This Sunday, the NFL presents a battle of two NFC West teams. Let’s take a look at this single game Draftkings Showdown slate from a fantasy football perspective!

Before I discuss my Draftkings player picks for Sunday night’s game, let’s take a look at the key DFS injuries for both teams and briefly review the rules for the single game showdown contest.

DFS Injuries

Seattle Seahawks: OUT: C Ethan Pocic (concussion), CB Shaquil Griffin (concussion/hamstring), DT Bryan Mone (ankle); QUESTIONABLE: RB Chris Carson (foot), RB Carlos Hyde (hamstring), CB Quinton Dunbar (knee), DE Benson Mayowa (ankle), WR Freddie Swain (foot), DE Alton Robinson (illness), WR Penny Hart (knee), WR Freddie Swain (foot), LB K.J. Wright (ankle).

Los Angeles Rams: QUESTIONABLE: LB Leonard Floyd (knee), LB Terrell Lewis (shoulder), C Brian Allen (knee).

Let’s shift our focus to the rules for the Draftkings single game showdown contest. You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard Draftkings points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard Draftkings points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a Draftkings showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the Draftkings showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

Here are my Draftkings player selections for Sunday afternoon’s game!

Captain

Jared Goff, QB $18,000 Captain Price/Flex Price $12,000

Goff will face a Seattle Seahawks defense that has been absolutely awful defending the pass this season. How bad have the Seahawks been defending the pass you may ask? Well, historically bad. The Seattle Seahawks defense is currently on a pace to eclipse the most passing yards allowed to opposing offenses in a single season by well over 1,000 yards! Having stated that, I like Goff to take full advantage of this vulnerable Seattle secondary on Sunday night.

It should also be noted that the Rams had a bye last week. The team should be well rested and ready to roll. I am quite sure that Rams head coach Sean McVay has put together an outstanding offensive game plan for this week’s divisional battle with the Seattle Seahawks.

Flex Plays

Cooper Kupp, WR $9,600

I think it’s safe to say that Rams quarterback Jared Goff likes throwing the football to Cooper Kupp. As they say, the proof is in the pudding. In his last three games played, Los Angeles wide receiver Cooper Kupp has been targeted by his quarterback a whopping 35 times! Kupp has turned those 35 targets into 20 receptions and 164 receiving yards.

Now that we have determined Kupp’s fantasy value, let’s turn our attention to the defense he will face this week. The Seahawks are dead last (32nd) in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to the wide receiver position. Through eight games played this season, the Seahawks are allowing an average of 22 receptions to wide receivers per game. Additionally, Seattle opponents are targeting wide receivers, on average, a whopping 30 times a game! Wow.

Russell Wilson, QB $12,400

The 31 year old quarterback is quite simply playing outstanding this season. Through seven games played, Wilson has accumulated 2,541 yards and 28 passing touchdowns. That is an average of 317.63 passing yards and 3.5 touchdowns a game! Those outstanding statistics translate to an average of 31.6 Draftkings points a game.

David Moore $5,400

The Seattle wide receiver has been targeted by his signal caller nine times in the last two football games. In the two games just mentioned, Moore has seven receptions, 89 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns.

I should also mention that I have a strong belief that the Rams talented defensive secondary will be highly focused on shutting down Seattle wide receivers D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett this week. I think the Rams focus on the Seahawks top wide receivers will open the door for Moore to get more receiving targets on Sunday afternoon.

Jason Myers, K $3,400

The high powered Seattle Seahawks offense has presented all of the team’s offensive players with fantasy scoring opportunities this season. Yes, that includes the kicker. In his last three games played, Jason Myers is averaging 10.66 Draftkings points a game.

Greg Olsen $800

For my last flex play, I am going to take a chance on Seahawks tight end Greg Olsen. Why? Well, first of all, Olsen arrives on this Draftkings single game showdown slate at only $800. I also think Olsen has a real chance to produce quality fantasy results in this game.

Yes, I know that Olsen has only been targeted by Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson seven times in the last two games. I also know that Olsen has been hampered by injuries. Reports out of Seattle today indicate that Olsen was a full participant in practice on Friday. Additionally, Greg does not carry an injury designation for this game.

Additional Flex plays I like: Robert Woods, WR $9,200: D.K. Metcalf, WR $10,400: Josh Reynolds, WR, $5,000.
