I’ll take Adam Thielen having a big night for 1,000.

For this first time in a long time, Monday Night Football will be watchable once again. The red-hot Minnesota Vikings led running back Dalvin Cook will travel to Soldier Field to take on the trudging Chicago Bears.

The eyes will be on Cook, he’s exploded since his return from the injured list two weeks ago. However, the focus also should be on Adam Thielen, who stole the moment at pregame with a tribute to a legend.

The Vikings star wideout paid tribute to late the “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek on his cleats before the divisional game against the Chicago Bears. Below, the Thielen showed a sign saying “We will miss you, Alex” for 19,000 — easily a tribute to his number.

Trebek, 80, passed away earlier this month after a four-year battle with pancreatic cancer. The artist of the cleats, Dan “Mache” Gamache, also posted a message of how the hit television series affected many, mostly due to the warm nature of the long-time host.

Let’s try NFC North showdown for $400, please?

Much like his cleats, Thielen has been on fire despite a limited offense in 2020. Through nine games, the 30-year-old pass-catcher has tallied 37 catches for 480 yards and scored seven touchdowns. During the team’s two-game winning streak, Thielen has yet to find the end zone.

Minnesota still has a chance to catch up in the NFC North race. Although the Detroit Lions picked up their fourth win on the year, Chicago’s offense has struggled to find any stability with either Mitchell Trubisky or Nick Foles. Earlier this week, Bears coach Matt Nagy announced he would relinquish calling the plays in favor of offensive coordinator Bill Lazor.

If the Vikings offense can play at the same level against Chicago’s middle-ranked defense, this game could get out of hand fast in favor of the purple. No matter what, it’s hard not to root for Thielen tonight, who helped America keep the memory of a living legend alive for a little while longer.

dark. Next. Did Bill Belichick take a shot at the Houston Texans?
