Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. . 1. player. 81. Atlantic. Toronto Raptors

While Nick Nurse remains an excellent coach and Masai Ujiri one of the league’s best GMs, the Raptors have been pegged as a prime regression candidate by many, WIth Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, and Fred VanVleet all potentially leaving in free agency, Toronto faces the possibility of slipping down the ultra-competitive Atlantic Division standings. While things might be very rosy right now in Toronto, Ujiri has plenty of time of salvage this offseason, and a huge move that could keep the Raptors competitive would be adding Harrell at the deadline.

Harrell wouldn’t be a perfect signing, as Nurse likes big men who can shoot, while Harrell is limited in that department. However, the Lakers proved that even in the modern NBA, there is no such thing as too much size or finishing at the rim, and that is Harrell’s bread and butter. Gasol is likely headed to Spain, and contenders like the Lakers have been kicking the tires on Ibaka. While not a like-for-like replacement, Harrell might be the best big on the market, and Toronto could ace this challenging offseason by bringing him in.
