Coming into the new season, Drew Brees was set to call the shots in what projected to be one of the best offenses in the NFL. That projection has come true, but Brees has been tallying points on the scoreboard without two of his top targets for most of the season.

Michael Thomas is just now getting back relatively healthy after missing most of the season with an injury, and Emmanuel Sanders was on the shelf for a few games due to COVID-19. Now, both are back for a Super Bowl run.

Of course, Thomas gets all the attention, and he should. Although, Sanders is a reliable second option for Brees, as we saw in Week 4 and 5. In Week 4, he had 93 yards on six catches. The next week, he saw 14 targets and caught 12 of them for 122 yards. In his return in Week 9, he had just four catches on five targets for 38 yards and a score.

Sanders has value and that can be seen in those numbers, and he may have a big game when the Saints host the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11. Atlanta has given up big receiving numbers to opponents pass catchers, which means the Saints have a favorable matchup in this one.

Thomas should not scare you off adding Sanders. He will get his targets, but that does not mean Sanders will not. In this offense, with this quarterback, in this matchup with the Falcons, Sanders seems likely to get action.
