D’Andre Swift – Detroit Lions

Swift was named the starting running back for the Lions’ clash with Washington and took full advantage of his opportunity, producing his second-best performance of his rookie season.

The Lions threw away a 21-point lead before eventually prevailing with a late Matt Prater field goal but their collapse had little to do with Swift, who excelled as both a runner and a pass-catcher.

Swift had 81 yards on 16 carries to go with five receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown, earning him 25.9 points in PPR leagues, his highest score since he put up 116 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the Week 6 defeat of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The former Georgia star has at least one touchdown in four of his last six games and, with the lead role in the backfield apparently secured, the rookie looks dependable as a low-end fantasy starter.

It will be tough to find too many leagues where he can be had on the waiver wire. Swift is owned in 92 percent of Yahoo leagues and 91 percent of ESPN leagues, but fantasy managers who have until now kept him stashed on their bench can have significantly more confidence about sliding him into their starting line-up.
