Some good news has arrived for the Chicago Bears and veteran quarterback Nick Foles, as it’s been reported he didn’t suffer a fractured hip.

The Monday Night Football showdown between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings ended in truly concerning fashion, as Nick Foles was slammed to the turf with less than a minute to go and did not get up.

The veteran signal-caller was in so much pain, he had to be carted off the field. As he was taken off the turf, speculation began to arise that No. 9 could be out for the rest of the season with a serious hip injury. Luckily for Matt Nagy and Chicago, NFL insider Mike Garafolo is reporting Foles did not suffer a fracture in his hip and will undergo some more tests.

Nick Foles not suffering a fractured hip is outstanding news for the Bears

Chicago surely dodged a bullet here, as the feeling on Monday night was that Foles may have seriously injured that hip. The fact that Garafolo’s sources say Foles is doing okay is miraculous. Again, the way his body hit the turf on Monday night, you really felt like the signal-caller was going to get some bad news on Tuesday. Thus far, that hasn’t been the case.

With the loss to Minnesota on Monday, Chicago is now 5-5 on the season. Fortunately for the Bears, they have a bye this weekend and won’t return to the field until a Nov. 29 showdown with the Green Bay Packers.

If Foles is unable to go in Week 12, Nagy will have to go back to Mitch Trubisky, if he’s healthy enough, to run the offense. Trubisky was of course benched earlier this year in favor of Foles, so it may be his shot at redemption.
