4. Facing a tough defense, Rodgers has a fairly average outing

The Green Bay Packers have a tough little game in Week 11. They head to Indianapolis for a showdown with the Colts — a team that just stomped out the Tennessee Titans a week ago.

When the Colts dropped a Week 1 game to the Jacksonville Jaguars, they looked like total pretenders. Adding Philip Rivers to a team with ho-hum offensive weapons seemed foolhardy, if only for a week. Few valued the prospect of the Colts defense and then they allowed Garnder Minshew to spearhead a 27-20 victory.

Well, that’s why NFL seasons don’t stop after one week of football. Indianapolis has stormed back to a 6-2 record with the defense acting as the spine of the organization. Rivers is playing just well enough to shove victories into the win column. The Colts RB-by-committee is one of the most unexpectedly productive in the business.

The Packers are no slouch, though. Rodgers coming to Indiana is just as much of a test for the Colts defense as the Colts defense is for Rodgers’ outlook. Indianapolis gives up just over 15 fantasy points per game — second-best in the NFL. Rodgers and Green Bay could very well find a way to win, but Rodgers will tally somewhere in the 20-point range for fantasy. Perhaps even less.
