NFL DFS Bargain Bin: Week 11 Sunday Slates Tight Ends
Dallas Goedert, PHI at CLE ($3,800-DK/$5,800-FD)
As alluded to earlier in Wentz’s entry, Goedert was on the field plenty the last two games and appears to be moving around very well on his previously injured ankle. The third-year pro saw six targets versus the Giants in Week 10 after getting just one look from Wentz in the tight end’s Week 8 return from IR, and he could be ready to take off in earnest in Sunday’s favorable matchup against the vulnerable Browns pass defense.
Cleveland has allowed a 51-458-5 line to tight ends, leading to averages of 14.1 DK/11.3 FD points per game given up to the position. Goedert hasn’t quite had a chance to hit his stride yet this season due to Wentz’s struggles and the tight end’s own injuries, but with this game now serving as his third consecutive with active status, the 25-year-old could start making the impact he’s proven capable of in the past. It’s also worth noting Goedert could be a focal point of Wentz’s in an attempt to get the quarterback back on track after his uncharacteristic wildness this season, further strengthening his case.
Logan Thomas, WFT vs. CIN ($3,300-DK/$5,200-FD)
Thomas’s salaries continue to misalign with his upside, especially when considering he’s fresh off having accumulated a season-high 66 receiving yards against the Lions in Week 10 and sports a combined 14-196-2 line on 19 looks over the last four games. Thomas was seeing a healthier allotment of targets earlier in the season, but he’s encouragingly logged a solid 11 overall while playing most of the last two games with Alex Smith under center.
The Bengals could certainly set the stage for more of the same. Cincinnati has facilitated the third-most targets (76) to the tight end position this season, which has led to a 48-583-6 line and AFC-high 16.4 DK/13.6 FD points per game given up to the position. Thomas has displayed some downfield chops with 10.8 yards per grab and three receptions of greater than 20 yards, and with the Bengals also surrendering an AFC-high 83.3 percent red-zone touchdown success rate on the road, the athletic tight end would appear to have a solid chance of finding the end zone.
