NCAA basketball: Big East basketball bold predictions for 2020-2021
Big East basketball Breakout Players: Bryce Aiken, G, Seton Hall
Seton Hall is going to have to deal with some pretty substantial losses in the 2020-2021 season as their two biggest contributors, star Myles Powell and Quincy McKnight now gone from the Pirates roster, they have to replace the majority of their production. That’s where graduate transfer Bryce Aiken, formerly at Harvard, comes into the mix.
A 6-foot guard, Aiken has been tremendously productive as an offensive player throughout his time with the Crimson in the Ivy League. In seven games last year, he averaged over 16 points. And in the 2018-2019 season, the guard put up over 22 points per contest in 18 games while hitting 39.8 percent of his 3-point attempts.
Because he played at Harvard, though, suffice it to say that Aiken is not a household name. While that may be so, the talent and opportunity for the guard are a perfect match. He arrives in a Seton Hall program that needs a big-time scorer and he has more than proven capable of being that with a versatile offensive arsenal.
Moving from the Ivy to the Big East is undoubtedly a jump in level of competition but one that Aiken appears more than ready to make. If the Pirates transfer comes in and is even 85 percent as effective for Seton Hall as he was as Harvard, he’ll be a name that everyone recognizes by the end of the year.
