2021 NFL Mock Draft: BYU quarterback Zach Wilson enters the top 5
By Brad Weiss
The Chicago Bears are playing well enough to pick in the middle of the first round, and that means, barring some huge trade, they will not be getting their new franchise quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft. They have mortgaged the future before for a quarterback, see Mitchell Trubisky, and that did not work out well.
At pick No. 16, they could get an elite playmaker for whoever their quarterback is next season, adding Florida tight end Kyle Pitts. This is the kind of dynamic tight end every team needs to be elite in this league, and he will certainly be the first player off the board at his position group.
With their second of two first-round picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select a player that will have a major impact on their defense. Dylan Moses is the second-best linebacker in this draft class, and in Miami, he would join a defense that is both young, and exciting.
Miami is getting better way faster than most thought, and they could sneak into this thing as an AFC Wild Card team. That would be a huge kudos to head coach Brian Flores, who had this team playing hard last season with little talent, and now has some building blocks in the franchise on both sides of the ball.
The Baltimore Ravens better get their act together fast, or they could find themselves on the outside looking in terms of the AFC Playoffs. They just cannot beat good teams, and now that they have players out due to COVID for their Thanksgiving matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers, they could find themselves sitting at 6-5.
If the season ended today, Baltimore would miss the playoffs, which is crazy to say. They have needs on both sides of the ball, including coming off the edge on defense, and they get a good one here in Carlos Basham Jr. This is a kid who is going to be a sack machine at the next level, and the Ravens need help there.
