College football DFS quarterback picks November 27:

Top Tier:

Liberty is a different animal than Florida Atlantic, but the offense is built the same way: it funnels through the quarterback. Malik Willis had his worst game as a Flame last week. This is a prime rebound spot against UMass. The rushing ability gives Willis a good floor anyway, but I don’t feel like this is a slate that we need to reach on. Willis feels like a bit of a reach for the price.

I would say that Dillon Gabriel is more proven with a better matchup and a higher floor. Gabriel put up 27.72 DraftKings points against a really good Cincinnati defense. Willis has a higher ceiling, but Gabriel is far less likely to sink your lineup.

Middle Tier:

It took a bit for the North Carolina offense to take off, but it has lately. It has a lot to do with the play of Sam Howell. I know that Notre Dame is a tough defense, but there aren’t a lot of teams that can shut down the Tarheels with their backs and Howell throwing all over the place. However, the price is a bit offputting considering the Irish have only allowed six passing touchdowns in eight games. Use with caution.

Central Michigan got exposed by Western Michigan last week. That’s good news if you’re thinking about Preston Hutchinson. He runs well, but this EMU passing game has been better than expected. There’s a good floor here.

With as bad as the North Carolina defense has looked this year, anyone is in play against them. We all know what Ian Book did last year. Like Howell, it took Book a bit to get going this year. Three of his top four scoring weeks of the season have come in the last month. This could top them all.

Bargain Shoppers:

Brock Purdy had statistically his best game of the season last week against one of the better defenses they’ve faced. Now he gets one of the worst. Purdy has eight touchdowns and 134 rushing yards over his last three games. He’s heating up as the race is, and he has a nice matchup with a Texas team that has allowed 14 passing touchdowns in seven games.

Jordan McCloud is an interesting punt this week. UCF has allowed 268.4 passing yards per game and 19 passing touchdowns in eight contests. This defense can be had. I’m a little worried about the lack of playmakers within the USF receiving corps, but McCloud has a high ceiling for a low price.

Don’t expect miracles, but this is a nice spot for Spencer Petras against Nebraska. The Cornhuskers run defense has been solid, but I still don’t know if Iowa trusts Petras enough for him to throw enough to get us a good score.
