ESPN college pick em picks 1-5

(1) Buffalo over Kent State:

It’s about time we get some MACtion on ESPN college pick em! This is going to be a really good one. Kent’s offense looks like the best in the MAC. Yes, even better than Buffalo. The Bulls want to grind this out on the ground. Dustin Crum and the Flashes are going to throw it all over UB Stadium. Ultimately I don’t think Kent can totally keep the lid on Jaret Patterson, but it’s going to be fun to watch them try.

(2) San Jose State over Boise State:

The Spartans took down the Aztecs, who might be as good as Boise. The Spartans finally look good on offense and the defense is better than expected. Boise just struggled with a Hawaii team that had been struggling. The Broncos are ripe for an upset and San Jose State knows a thing or two about pulling them.

(3) USC over Colorado

Okay, so, since the Trojans haven’t looked elite yet, I think someone is going to knock them off. It could be the upstart Ralphies. I’m not sure the Ralphies have the defense to pull it off, but Kedon Slovis doesn’t look like he did at the end of last year. Something is off. I think Colorado is going to give the Trojans a scare, but they are still a little ways off from springing an upset like this.

(4) Tulsa over Houston:

I’m a believer in the Tulsa defense, but if Zach Smith can’t go, I’m less wild about the offense. Still, Houston’s defense has let the offense down yet again this year. Tulsa looks strong on both sides of the ball and seems to be on a collision course with Cincinnati.

(5) Oklahoma State over Texas Tech:

Spencer Sanders should be fine, but the Texas Tech defense wont be regardless. They struggle to stop the run and the Cowboys have two really good backs in Chuba Hubbard and LD Brown. This might get ugly with as poorly as the Red Raiders have played lately.
