2. Aaron Rodgers, QB (Green Bay Packers)

Last Week’s Ranking: 2nd

 Highest Ranking of Season: 2nd

2020 Stats: 2,889 Passing Yards, 29 Passing TDs, 4 INTs, 68.2% Comp, 115.8 Passer Rating

Even a loss will not jar Rodgers from the No. 2 slot. His suitors — Allen, Wilson, and Murray — all have three team losses, so Rodgers and the Packers losing in Week 11 to the Indianapolis Colts merely levels the playing field for the race.

Based on QBR and passer rating, Allen and Murray assuredly have no business topping Rodgers in this race, yet. Wilson, though, could get back there with a couple of humongous performances in the next couple of weeks.

When Green Bay was murdered by Tampa Bay in October, the entire Packers team was underwhelming — Rodgers included. Against the Colts last weekend, Rodgers was damn good while his team was outdueled by a better football team in the Colts.

The moral of the story: Don’t panic if you’re a Packer fan. Indianapolis’ defense is top-notch and somehow their offense does the trick, as weird as Philip Rivers’ mechanics may seem at times.

What’s more, life gets very easy for Green Bay in the next month. They will face the Bears, Eagles, Lions, and Panthers. That should be a recipe for four consecutive victories and a subsequent 11-3 record (probably a No. 1 seed in the NFC).
