Scouting Report. 3B. New York Yankees. 43. Pick Analysis. Miguel Andujar. 0. player

Now that Clint Frazier has established himself as a viable outfielder both in the field and at the plate for the Yankees, a former top prospect in Andujar is running out of spots in the lineup. Andujar almost won Rookie of the Year in 2018 before Shohei Ohtani stole it from him, but injuries and just plain old poor performance have leeched away any standing he might’ve had with the Yankees, as he has just 21 hits and a .193 average in 33 games over the last two seasons. He might pick it back up elsewhere, but the Dodgers shouldn’t buy a ticket for this roller coaster.

Andujar’s bat was supposed to be his calling card, as he was genuinely awful as a defensive third baseman. A move to left field didn’t help him find a new calling, as his inexperience helped cost the Yankees on several occasions. The Dodgers have quality starters and a backup plan at every position. While that does mean that they could buy a proverbial lottery ticket and see if Andujar ends up coming back to life, shoehorning him into the lineup would be the truest essence of fitting a square peg into a round hole, and Friedman needs to avoid getting seduced by that 2018 season.
