Fantasy Football 2020: 5 bold predictions for Week 12
By Dustin Baker
1. Darius Slayton is more feast than famine in Week 12 at Cincinnati
Slayton is the poster child for feast-or-famine fantasy outings. That’s why he lives at the top of some waiver wires. You might conjure the gumption to start him during a week – and he gets three points. You bench him, and he notches 20+ points. It’s that “Mike Williams Mentality” where the consistency is whimsical.
This will be one of the weeks when Slayton hits it big. His team – somehow, someway – is embroiled in the hunt for the NFC East crown. The Giants are 3-7 and have a real shot at winning the division because the competition is so underwhelming. There is a tangible chance that the NFC East winner – who will host a playoff game – finishes the season with a 6-10 record. And, the NFL is so strange that the team might just be victorious in the wildcard round.
Slayton and the Giants travel to Ohio for a date with the downtrodden Cincinnati Bengals this weekend. Cincinnati will be without its infallible rookie signal-caller, Joe Burrow, after he was lost for the season [and perhaps longer] with a torn ACL and MCL. Defensively, the Bengals surrender about 25 PPR points per game to wide receivers (eighth-worst in the business). Slayton will feast because that’s what he does, every now and then.
