2. It’s not advisable to start Ryan Tannehill against the Colts

One of the unsung storylines of the 2020 season is the efficacy of the Indianapolis Colts defense. Philip Rivers and friends manufacture a decent offense, but the defensive side of the ball is where the magic happens.

That doesn’t bode well for Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill. By trade, he is not an overly prolific passer of the football, but he is smart and efficient. This contest with Indianapolis will be one where he does just enough to give the Titans a chance to win. Otherwise, turn around and hand the damn ball to Derrick Henry.

The Colts allow just 16 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Last week, Aaron Rodgers was an exception because, well, he’s Aaron Rodgers. In the end, the Packers coughed away a victory while the Colts moved to 7-3 – the same record as the divisional foe Titans.

Tannehill isn’t a poor player nor is he a game manager. But against the Colts in Week 12, he will exhibit game manager-like tendencies. For that reason, start someone like Derek Carr vs. Atlanta instead.

When the Colts and Titans matched up a few weeks ago, Tannehill was accountable for less than 13 fantasy points. Not a good look when you’re fighting for a spot in your fantasy playoffs.
