NFL DFS Bargain Bin: Week 12 Sunday Slates
NFL DFS Bargain Bin: Week 12 Sunday Slates Wide Receivers
DeVante Parker, MIA at NYJ ($5,900-DK/$6,500-FD)
Miami’s pass catchers may go a bit under the radar this week, especially with some questions at quarterback for the Dolphins. However, the Jets seem to be intent on cementing their status as the AFC’s worst secondary with their recent performances, and Parker could certainly be one of the beneficiaries irrespective of whether it’s Tua Tagovailoa (thumb) or Ryan Fitzpatrick under center in this AFC East battle. Parker is also coming off one of his better games of the campaign, having generated a 6-61-1 line on nine targets versus the Broncos in the Week 11 loss.
New York comes into Week 12 allowing an AFC-high 288.3 passing yards per game, along with an NFL-high 72.9 percent completion rate and a 72.6 percent catch rate to WRs specifically. The Jets are also giving up an elevated 7.8 yards per attempt and have yielded 43.9 DK/34.5 FD points per game to wideouts as well. In other words, there’s no amount of research that would dissuade taking some shots here in cash games or GPPs, and as a bonus, Parker could well be poised to lead the team in targets with either quarterback.
Curtis Samuel, CAR at MIN ($5,100-DK/$5,900-FD)
Samuel continued to enjoy a robust role in the offensive attack in Week 11 against the Lions despite the absence of Teddy Bridgewater, displaying impressive chemistry with fill-in P.J. Walker to the tune of eight receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown. Samuel also always has a good chance for multiple carries whenever Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) is out of action — as is expected to be the case again Sunday — which only furthers the speedy receiver’s appeal at bargain salaries.
Samuel has logged nine and 10 targets in two of his last three games, and he’s seen no fewer than five in six consecutive contests. He’s also received a combined 18 carries in the eight games McCaffrey has missed thus far, which have led to 68 rushing yards and a pair of scores on the ground. Therefore, he’s fairly locked into a solid workload under any circumstance Sunday, and Bridgewater returning to action doesn’t hurt his prospects by any stretch. For that matter, neither does the fact the Vikings come in allowing a surprisingly high 305.0 passing yards per game and 7.7 yards per attempt at home, as well as a whopping 17 touchdown catches to wideouts overall.
Michael Pittman, Jr., IND vs. TEN ($5,000-DK/$5,700-FD)
Pittman has been consistently involved in the air attack since returning from an injured reserve stint due to a lower leg issue. After an admittedly unremarkable first game back in action against the Lions in Week 8, Pittman has posted a 14-223-1 line on 18 targets and also scampered for 21 yards on one rush attempt over the subsequent three contests. A physical specimen at 6-foot-4 and approximately 225 pounds with solid speed, Pittman can theoretically strike from anywhere on the field.
That may be made even likelier by his matchup versus a Titans defense allowing 267.4 passing yards per game, along with a 69.3 percent catch rate to receivers. Tennessee has also given up 10 receiving TDs to wideouts and ranks in the bottom 10 of the NFL with 43.5 DK/33.7 FD points per game yielded to the position overall. In what projects to be a back-and-forth affair that could see Philip Rivers put the ball up somewhere in the range of the 39 attempts he’s averaged over the last four contests, Pittman is a strong play at his salaries against a team he already tagged for a career-best 7-101 line in Week 8.
