2020 NFL power rankings, Week 13: Titans roll, Raiders humbled
The team had some extra time to prepare for the NFC North-leading Packers at Lambeau Field. And Mitch Trubisky was back behind center for Matt Nagy’s club. But it was Chicago’s defense that really struggled to stop Aaron Rodgers and company.
After not giving up at least 30 points in any of their first 10 games this season, the Packers came up with 41 points. The Bears failed to come up with a takeaway while the team committed three turnovers.
Bill Belichick’s up-and-down club fell short at Houston last week and took on the potentially-explosive Cardinals.
It was a tough day for quarterback Cam Newton, who was sacked three times, threw two interceptions, passed for only 84 yards and zero touchdowns while running nine times for 46 yards. But the New England defense came up with some timely stops and veteran kicker Nick Folk nailed a 50-yard field goal on the game’s final play for the win.
It was an inconsistent outing by Mike Zimmer’s team but thanks to some late heroics from Kirk Cousins, the team inched closer to .500.
The veteran hurler hit on 34-of-45 throws for 307 yards and three scores and did have one of the team’s three lost fumbles. But he also drove the team 75 yards in seven plays in 1:05 and a 10-yard touchdown pass to Chad Beebe with 46 seconds to play and Dan Bailey’s PAT gave Minnesota the win after trailing 21-10.
