The uncertainty around adding and starting players within the offense of the Indianapolis Colts has been discussed in this series of articles before. In this offense, it is always tough to predict who gets the attention that week. Well, it begs to be talked about again as the team gets ready to play the Houston Texans in Week 13.

Why so? Because this matchup projects as a favorable one for receiver Michael Pittman Jr. as he has started to find his form in the NFL.

Pittman missed a few weeks early in the season, but he has been a different player since his return. In Weeks 9 through 11, he gathered 14 receptions on 18 targets with 223 yards and one score. His best game during that stretch was in Week 10 against the Tennessee Titans when he had seven catches for 101 yards.

The Colts defense has stolen the headlines, but the team’s offense has been humming lately. Keeping that form in mind, this week’s game against a team with some deficiencies on defense indicates the Colts may be able to throw even more points on the scoreboard.

Houston’s pass defense against opponent receivers has not been spectacular, and this unit has allowed 15 passing scores to receivers.

Pittman has shown some flashes of becoming that physical, outside, chunk play receiver the front office thought they’d be getting when they drafted him in the second round of this past draft.
