Fantasy Football 2020: 5 bold predictions for Week 13
By Dustin Baker
4. Kyler Murray is not otherworldly vs. the Rams in Week 13
Since the Hail Murray connection to DeAndre Hopkins mere weeks ago, Murray jumped to MVP candidate but returned to earth as “just a good quarterback” as of late. Welcome to the NFL. Indeed, the Cardinals shocked the Bills in Week 10 and earned, what appeared to be, some fabulous momentum necessary for a playoff run.
Then, Murray and the Cardinals played the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, teams that danced in the Super Bowl six years ago. The result? Two losses, although not by staggering deficits.
This means that Murray is human and that every dog has his day when tossing up prayers as last-gasp throws. Murray will be a star in the league, rest assured. But in Week 13, he will be stymied by an out-for-vengeance Rams team. Sean McVay’s team dropped a game to the depleted 49ers in Week 12.
The Rams stop quarterbacks from a fantasy perspective. They allow about 15 points per contest to opposing signal-callers. Murray is electric, but it is unlikely that he will circumvent the Rams usually-sturdy defense. Think along the lines of 15-20 fantasy points rather than 25-30.
