Buffalo Bills (8-3) at San Francisco 49ers (5-6), 8:15 pm

Bills: When the AFC East leaders last took the field, the club came up with a 10-point win over the Chargers. But Sean McDermott’s club owned a 24-6 third-quarter lead and things turned a little sloppy in the second half. Buffalo’s defense continues to have some issues and Leslie Frazier’s unit has now slipped to 25th in the league against the run. A year ago, only the Patriots (225) allowed fewer points than the Bills (259). But in 11 outings this year, McDermott’s squad has already given up 282 points and surrendered 32 offensive TDs – equally divided between the run (16) and the pass. However, the AFC East leaders own a 2-1 record vs. the NFC West this season.

49ers: San Francisco’s defense rose to the occasion in the three-point road win over the Rams. The Niners came up with a pair of sacks and four takeaways in completing the sweep of Los Angeles for the second consecutive year. It’s worth noting that including this Monday night tilt, the 49ers will play three of their next four games at Arizona. They “host” the Bills and Washington in the span of seven days, head to Dallas and then return to the dessert for the second meeting of the season with the Cardinals. And perhaps the change of venue will do Kyle Shanahan’s sub-.500 club some good considering the Niners own a surprising 1-4 home record this season at Levi’s Stadium.
