Tuesday, Dec. 8

Dallas Cowboys (3-8) at Baltimore Ravens (6-5), 8:05 pm

Cowboys: No team in the NFL has allowed more points per game and more yards per outing on the ground. Mike McCarthy’s club has gone through four different starting quarterbacks since Dak Prescott went down and Dallas not only owns a 1-5 record in the last six games, the club failed to score at least 20 points in all but one of those contests. Only the Broncos (26) have turned over the ball more than McCarthy’s club (23). Dallas has lost an NFL-high 13 fumbles, five of those via running back Ezekiel Elliott. But it’s worth noting that current quarterback Andy Dalton has faced the Ravens numerous times and has enjoyed some success against Baltimore’s defensive unit.

Ravens: The loss to the Steelers on Wednesday was not only the third straight for John Harbaugh’s club but it mathematically eliminated the Ravens from winning the AFC North for a third consecutive year. The team’s roster was hampered by COVID-19 at Pittsburgh and there were two more turnovers, making Baltimore’s total this year to 14 miscues. In 2019, the Ravens gave up the football just 15 times in 16 regular-season games. Don Martindale’s unit allowed only 68 yards rushing at Pittsburgh but stopping the run has been an issue more times than not this season. A year ago, Harbaugh’s team ranked fifth in the NFL in rushing defense and has slipped to 12th this season.
