Here is another similar circumstance like the Carlos Hyde-Chris Carson scenario discussed on the previous slide. Although, this one is a bit different. While Carson is a good running back, Hyde does not share the backfield with a superstar like Alvin Kamara.

One of the few backs who have that designation of splitting time with a star like Kamara in the NFL is Latavius Murray.

Now, the New Orleans Saints have been a much different team without Drew Brees. To no surprise, the gameplan with Taysom Hill has looked more like a college-style offense than a vertical NFL attack. Meaning, Murray and Kamara have been used heavily.

Murray has seen his involvement balloon, and he has done well with the increased reps. Even with Kamara, he has been able to produce as he did in Week 12 against the Denver Broncos. In that contest, he ran for 124 yards on 19 carries with two touchdowns on the ground.

Again, like Hyde and Carson, this scenario with Murray seems boom or bust. You will want to stay away from these situations in the playoffs, but these adds can also propel you to massive wins if you gamble the right way. Basically, Murray might be worth that roll of the dice Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles have held opponents to a lower number of rushing yards from running backs. Although, keeping those opposing backs out of the endzone has not been too easy for the team’s defense.

With Hill under center and the Saints in a firm position to create more space between them and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South, Murray’s number may be called upon quite a bit. He is a downhill runner who fits well within the physical style of offense that has been employed with Hill at signal-caller.
