Fantasy Stars & Studs, Week 13: Stafford a smart playoff waiver add
Keke Coutee – Houston Texans
With Will Fuller suspended for the remainder of the season and Randall Cobb on injured reserve, Coutee became the de-facto number one receiver in Houston and flourished in that role in the Texans’ painful loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
Coutee made eight catches on nine targets for 141 yards as the Texans came up short in a 26-20 defeat, netting the 2018 fourth-round pick 22.1 points in PPR scoring.
He has several opportunities to produce similar efforts in the coming weeks. The Texans face a strong Bears defense in Week 14 but Houston will likely have been encouraged by Chicago’s collapse against the Lions.
Week 15 sees a second matchup with the Colts before Coutee gets the chance to face a Cincinnati Bengals defense that quarterback Deshaun Watson should have little problem exploiting despite the lack of depth among his pass-catching options.
Coutee is available on the waiver wire in the majority of leagues. He is owned in only 27 percent of Yahoo leagues and a mere 12 percent of ESPN leagues. Those numbers should shoot up on the back of his performance against one of the better defenses in the NFL and, given the level Deshaun Watson is playing at of late, it is worth putting a claim in for the man most likely to be his top target as the Texans play out the string.
