LeBron James didn’t mince words in saying he felt hurt by Kyrie Irving‘s recent comments about clutch shooters.

Once LeBron James decides to hang up his sneakers and retire from the NBA, he’ll go down in history as one of the best basketball players of all time. He’s arguably the most dominant hoopers fans have ever been able to watch.

But, is he one of the most clutch? If you ask Kyrie Irving, that may not be the case, as the point guard recently said that Kevin Durant is the first teammate he’s had who he thinks can match his abilities as a clutch shooter. His first teammate? Seriously? Once James found out about this, it certainly surprised him.

LeBron James couldn’t believe Kyrie Irving’s comments about clutch shooters

As you can see in the video above, not only could James not believe what Irving had to say, but he was also hurt by his former teammate’s comments. It’s no secret the two don’t have the best past, as Irving has made negative comments like this before. However, they spent three seasons together and won an NBA Finals in Cleveland.

Plus, how many game-winners has James connected with over his career? To try and play it off like James doesn’t have ice in his veins with a game on the line is preposterous. While Irving is clearly trying to build a strong relationship with Durant in Brooklyn, there’s no need to throw shade at James.

After winning another NBA Finals this past season, this time with the Lakers, James continues to add to his legacy. At the end of the day, he is human after all and isn’t immune to letting cold words hurt his feelings. Irving needs to be better than this.
