1. Washington Hidden Ball Trick

Per Chase Young, the Steelers were exposed on Monday afternoon against the Washington Football Team. Pittsburgh had an early 14-0 lead over WFT, before everything that could go wrong, did. The Steelers failed to establish any running game the entire contest, while Washington’s physicality won them the line of scrimmage with ease.

Facing that two-touchdown deficit entering the second half would’ve made a comeback a far tougher task than it was, which is why the three points Washington ‘stole’ going into halftime were massive. Alex Smith deserves an Oscar, and perhaps a Tony for stating after the game that he did not take this football off the field with him on purpose, delaying the contest altogether as Washington was running out of time for their last-second field goal.

Yes, there’s Smith smiling at the officials as he carries the game ball off the field, forcing the refs to stop the clock and allow Washington one final try at a field goal. Those points, followed by a Washington touchdown on their first drive in the second half, turned the tide of this game altogether.

Pittsburgh deserved to lose, but let’s not pretend the officials didn’t play a small role in that end result by literally putting Washington points on the board.

Recap: Am I a tough grader? Absolutely. But NFL fans demand perfection. It’ll never be reached, but we ask for it anyway. B- this week for not absolutely ruining a football game. Of course, there’s always next week.
