Jamal Adams has been a brilliant addition for Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks defense.

When the Seattle Seahawks pulled off their blockbuster deal with the New York Jets during the offseason, some fans were skeptical of the decision made by general manager John Schneider. While Adams is an incredible talent, giving up two first-round picks for him seemed like a ton.

Fast forward to the present time and that deal surely seems worth it. Adams has cemented himself as the heart of the defense, making big play after big play for the 8-4 Seahawks. You better believe Pete Carroll has been thrilled with what he’s seen from No. 33 throughout the year, as his passion is tough to match on Sundays.

The Seahawks are seeing a big return on their Jamal Adams trade from the offseason

In eight games this season, Adams leads the team with his 7.5 sacks. He’s added 58 total tackles and a forced fumble. Those are the numbers of someone who has been a true beast in his first year in Seattle. Each contest, fans have been treated to seeing Adams fly all over the field to make plays.

Few players are able to match his energy. While Russell Wilson powers the offense, Adams has been the guy to fire the defense up. It’s been great to see for Carroll and the rest of the coaching staff.

Moving forward, Adams will need to keep those same energy levels going for Seattle, as the team has hopes of getting back to the Super Bowl this winter. Following the loss to the New York Giants, the team’s confidence took a bit of a hit. They’ll have the chance to bounce back on Sunday taking on the Jets, Adams’ former team.

Adams will no question be extra motivated to go up against his old teammates. Should he have another big showing, perhaps no one will be happier for him than Carroll.
