College football DFS running back picks December 11:

Top Tier:

The top tier running backs were completely cleared out here. It’s back to the drawing board for me since I had Brenden Knox and/or Jarek Broussard in every lineup.

Middle Tier:

We are now in the tier where no one has a particularly good matchup aside from Deion Hankins against North Texas. However, I have really issues staking my DFS success on an enigmatic team like UTEP.

This is also a big situation for Rachaad White. The bad news is that he routinely splits carries with DeaMonte Trayanum. Trayanum lead the Devils in carries last week, but White did a little more with them. Both are strong options considering what Broussard did to the Arizona defense last week. I like the value on Trayanum just a little more, but I kind of want to run both.

It’s a small sample size, but Arizona State has allowed 346 rushing yards and four touchdowns over two games. I like this spot for Gary Brightwell, especially considering the inconsistency with Plummer at quarterback. There could be a lot of running on both sides in this one.

Bargain Shoppers:

Michael Wiley has a glass ceiling even as the backup to Gary Brightwell. Part of the reason Plummer isn’t that effective is because Arizona runs the ball so well. Wiley can do a lot with few touches, but that’s the risk of playing a backup. No touches are guaranteed.
