The Rams need to be on upset alert this Thursday

There was no bigger beneficiary of the Giants’ upset win in Seattle last Sunday than the Los Angeles Rams. That result, combined with the Rams’ victory in Arizona, put Los Angeles into first place in the NFC West.

There is a lot to like for the Rams, who are efficient offensively and feature the best defensive player in the league in defensive tackle Aaron Donald. They aren’t unbeatable, however, and this week they have an interesting matchup with the New England Patriots.

Bill Belichick’s team just whipped the Chargers 45-0 on Sunday and stayed out west ahead of their Thursday night matchup with the Rams. The move nullified the Rams’ travel advantage for East Coast teams since New England is now adjusted to Pacific time, which should make them more competitive in this game.

The Patriots are also hot, winners in four of their last five games, as Belichick appears to have figured out how to get the most out of this team. The Rams have to be careful not to take New England lightly or they could be in for a nasty surprise on Thursday night.
