Duke basketball has no interest in playing any more non-conference games this regular season.

The non-conference has not been kind to Duke basketball in the early part of this campaign.

After losing their second non-conference game at home to a Big Ten team, the Duke Blue Devils are no longer interested in playing any more non-conference games during the regular season. No. 10 Duke is 2-2 through four games this year, losing at home to the No. 4 Michigan State Spartans and the No. 6 Illinois Fighting Illini. They only have two more non-conference games scheduled.

Mike Krzyzewski will do what is best for Mike Krzyzewski

Duke’s two wins this seasons are over the Coppin State Eagles and the Bellarmine Knights. The Blue Devils had a game with the Elon Phoenix postponed, as well as another with the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs that had been rescheduled for Dec. 19. The only other non-conference game on the books for Duke at this time is vs. the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on Dec. 12.

There is a great chance the next time we see Mike Krzyzewski‘s Blue Devils take the court might be against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish up in South Bend to tip off ACC play. While this conference-only route could change over time for Duke, dropping a pair of games at home to excellent Big Ten teams is not a good look to this traditional ACC blue-blood in the slightest.

If Coach K thinks this is what is best for his team, then that is the course of action he will take.
