Los Angeles Chargers: Immediate expectations to win

Kansas City Chiefs or not, the AFC West has several contenders in the mix for a wild card. With the offense averaging over 300 yards a game, the Chargers should be one of those teams that just has a down year due to coaching.

Even with Anthony Lynn finding ways to lose late, Justin Herbert has passed the 300-yard maker six different times in his rookie year. Kennan Allen is perhaps the most reliable slot option in the league while Mike Williams is a quality No.2.

Los Angeles is a tackle away from being a complete unit. That means Tom Telesco and the franchise will expect wins. Who wants to explain how beating Patrick Mahomes and game-planning against Jon Gruden is a job that feels impossible?

Chicago Bears: Short window to win

Matt Nagy has officially canned himself after blowing a 10 point lead in the fourth quarter against the Lions. Sure, he’s a massive problem in the Windy City, but the team is in good spirits moving forward with the right quarterback right?

The defense still has Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn adding pressure from the outside. Akeem Hicks is deadly from the trenches against the run. Eddie Jackson and Kyle Fuller are great in coverage while Jaylon Johnson could be the steal of the second round thanks to his skill set.

Chicago’s defense has about two years left to win with this unit. The offense is going to take a while to rebuild. Do you think the front office cares when the NFC North is winnable? Not in the slightest.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Defensive pieces, little on offense

Doug Marrone remains in Duval to help the franchise stink. Gardner Minshew was the feel-good story of 2019, but the mania ended as quickly as it began. It’s looking like the club will use an early pick to draft the Jaguars’ future under center.

Defensively, there are pieces to work with for whoever calls the shots. CJ Henderson is expected to replace the production of Jalen Ramsey. Josh Allen is a rising star in the pass-rushing department. Maybe next season we’ll see better production from Myles Jack and rookie K’Lavon Chaisson.

The offense has plenty of issues, however, mainly on the line. Is James Robinson repeating his success? Will DJ Chark sign a long-term deal? Who is playing left tackle? Good luck to Justin Fields or Trevor Lawerence playing with little to nothing over the next four years.
