UNC football’s Michael Carter trolled “The U” after scoring a touchdown.

Miami football had a hard time slowing down Michael Carter and the UNC football offense.

In a bit of a shock, the No. 17 North Carolina Tar Heels are giving it to the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday afternoon. While these two teams were viewed as No. 3 and No. 4 in the ACC hierarchy, Miami had only lost to the Clemson Tigers this season. With North Carolina leading by multiple scores, no wonder Carter mocked “The U” celebrating this touchdown.

Why hit ’em with the Horns Down when you can hit ’em with a Screw U?

In normal college football seasons, the Hurricanes and Tar Heels are ACC Coastal rivals. Had the ACC gone with divisional play this year, these would have been the two programs most likely to fight for being Clemson Tigers cannon fodder in the ACC Championship. Obviously, adding the national independent Notre Dame Fighting Irish into the mix removed divisions for 2020.

North Carolina may have three losses on the season, but they still have an outside shot of getting to a New Year’s Six bowl if the Tar Heels upset the Hurricanes in Miami Gardens. For this to happen, Clemson will need to beat Notre Dame in the ACC Championship. That way, both teams make the College Football Playoff, leaving North Carolina in the mix to make the Orange Bowl.

Carter flipping the script on “The U” certainly made us laugh in North Carolina’s upset bid.
