Pick Analysis. Patrick Surtain II. 1. 829. Scouting Report. CB. Alabama. player

Yes, you are getting old. Surtain is the son of the former All-Pro cornerback who spent most of his career with the Miami Dolphins, and he appears to be on the same trajectory after a superb season in Tuscaloosa’s defensive back factory. A 6-1, 205 pound corner with a high football IQ, effortless speed, and feistiness at the point of attack, Surtain has separated from the rest of the defensive back crowd, making him the clear top corner heading into 2021.

Not only is the Dallas secondary the main reason this team has been so unwatchable, but the reason for their poor play is extremely obvious. Letting Byron Jones go to the Dolphins in free agency without replacing him has forced rookies like Trevon Diggs to take on important roles in this secondary,

Surtain is not a very good tackler at this juncture, and that might give the Cowboys pause for thought. However, he has the coverage skills to become a Pro Bowler as soon as he steps on the field, and Dallas needs to take a swing on fixing their genuinely unwatchable secondary by taking the Alabama product.
