2020 NFL power rankings, Week 15: Chiefs, Packers win division titles
Off a home loss to the Saints, Raheem Morris’ club heads west to clash with the reeling Chargers.
Quarterback Matt Ryan was without wide receiver Julio Jones but Calvin Ridley caught a touchdown pass from wide receiver Russell Gage while Ryan’s TD pass to Laquon Treadwell in the third quarter gave Atlanta a seven-point lead. But the veteran also finished the afternoon with three interceptions and the Falcons lost via a field goal at the gun.
It’s been a rough year for Anthony Lynn’s club and it looked like the Chargers were headed to another thanks to some questionable decisions.
Rookie quarterback Justin Herbert would throw for 243 yards and two scores but also served up a fourth-quarter interception. But Anthony Lynn’s defense picked off Falcons’ quarterback Matt Ryan three times and the last of those thefts would eventually set up Michael Badgley’s game-winning field goal.
Just five days after being overwhelmed by the Ravens in Baltimore, the Cowboys got their fourth victory and took advantage of some sloppy play by the host Bengals. Quarterback Andy Dalton threw for 185 yards and two scores against his former employer. Defensive end Aldon Smith had three tackles and a 78-yard fumble return for a touchdown.
Dallas came away with three takeaways after forcing only 11 turnovers in their first 12 contests.
As was the case when these teams met at Lambeau Field in Week 2, the Lions owned the early lead over Green Bay. But the Lions’ defense ultimately had no answers for the Packers’ offense as Detroit defenders surrendered 410 total yards, failed to come up with a takeaway and did not sack Aaron Rodgers.
Matthew Stafford took a hit late in the game and was replaced by Chase Daniel. The Lions were limited to just 51 yards rushing in the loss.
