1. No need to punt

The top mark on this list may be the most impressive of all.

Why punt when Rodgers can just throw a touchdown at will? Such a stat may stand for a few weeks if a quarterback gets off to a hot start. We are now entering Week 15 and Rodgers still has more passing touchdowns than his team has punts this year.

For comparison, Mahomes has 33 touchdowns and the Chiefs have punted the ball 40 times. That is not a bad mark at all, but this is the MVP conversation. Fun stats like this can be looked at and Rodgers has the edge.

The MVP race is down to the quarterbacks of the top teams in the two respective conferences. Just like it should be.

At this point Rodgers’ entire body of work is ahead of Mahomes’. The focus now will be on Rodgers and the Packers carrying all this impressive work into the postseason and not falling off at all during the final three games of the regular season.

Unless Mahomes plays out of his mind and somehow passes Rodgers in terms of total touchdowns, the Packers quarterback should lock up the award in a year when some thought he may be getting pushed out of town.
