Pick Analysis. AFC West . 2. . player. Scouting Report. . Las Vegas Raiders . 28

The Las Vegas Raiders are hopeful that Damon Arnette and Trayvon Mullen can transform into a pair of shutdown cornerbacks. One season together and Mullen looks to be taking a jump forward, but Arnette looks like a rookie and doesn’t seem to be improving.

There were rumors that Gilmore could have been on the move at the NFL trade deadline when New England was 2-5. Still a shutdown cornerback, he would have added a veteran presence to a locker room filled with young defenders for the remainder of the 2020 year.

Naturally, that didn’t happen, but who’s to say it won’t down the line?

The Raiders have right around $72 million in cap space for 2022. That should only grow since the team will need to free up money before the start of next season. At this point, Gilmore can be the wide old defender with playoff experience that brings leadership to a defense that’s desperately missing that piece.
