Fantasy Stars and Studs, Week 15: Jalen Hurts has dynasty value
Justin Herbert –- Los Angeles Chargers
Following a couple of down weeks against the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons, Herbert was back at the kind of level that has seen him installed as the favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year in the Chargers’ Week 15 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Herbert had his first 300-yard game since Week 12 as the Chargers overcame the Raiders in overtime, tossing a pair of passing touchdowns and running for the decisive score in the extra period to finish the victory with 28 fantasy points.
On the surface, the Denver Broncos defense should present a more imposing challenge for Herbert in Week 16, however, Herbert racked up 23.2 points in the previous meeting between the two teams in Week 8 and will have been encouraged by Josh Allen’s performance against Denver last Saturday.
Allen’s 359-yard effort, which included two touchdowns through the air and a further pair on the ground, saw him finish with the second-highest score of Week 15 as he recorded 37.7 points.
Herbert may not have the same level of running ability as Allen, but he has the talent to be a threat on the ground as well as through the air and, with the Chargers seemingly picking up momentum down the stretch, he is a safe bet to start at quarterback in a championship matchup.
