Fantasy Stars and Studs, Week 15: Jalen Hurts has dynasty value
Salvon Ahmed –- Miami Dolphins
With Myles Gaskin on the shelf because of a positive test for COVID-19, it was Ahmed who did the bulk of the damage on the ground as the Dolphins took advantage of the New England Patriots’ porous run defense in a win that eliminated the Pats from contention for the playoffs.
Ahmed averaged 5.3 yards per carry as he put up 122 yards and a rushing touchdown, with his single catch for five yards seeing him finish with a total of 21.7 points in PPR scoring.
It is not clear whether Gaskin will be activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list for Week 16 having missed two straight games. Even if the Dolphins choose to promote him back to the active roster, they may be comfortable easing him back in given the performance of Ahmed and backfield mate Matt Breida, who had 86 yards on 12 carries, especially given the matchup Miami has in their penultimate regular-season game.
The Dolphins face a Raiders defense that has given up over 200 yards rushing in two of the last three games.
For fantasy owners perhaps in need of an extra running back option for the title game, Ahmed is worth a speculative add, but the status of Gaskin requires monitoring.
