2. Officials aid Steelers collapse

A pair of tough no-calls in the Bengals secondary aided what became a monumental upset on Monday Night Football. Frankly, the Steelers deserved to lose the way they were playing, but the officiating crew could’ve let Pittsburgh beat themselves — which they were surely on route to doing regardless — rather than leaving some obvious PI’s go uncalled.

The first play, which knocked Ebron out of the game altogether, saw a Bengals defender arrive early on the play, and hit a defenseless receiver in the back. The second, which was more of a toss-up, occurred on Pittsburgh’s final play of the game. Darius Phillips makes an excellent play on the ball with Chase Claypool a step behind him. However, it would appear Phillips got there a second early, and on such a pivotal drive the officiating crew should’ve stepped in.

The Steelers are done.
