Perhaps the biggest snub of them all is Ryan Tannehill of the Tennessee Titans. Everyone chuckled once the Titans acquired him in a trade with the Miami Dolphins back in 2019. Yet, Tannehill shocked the world once replacing Marcus Mariota in the starting lineup and leading Tennessee to the AFC Championship Game. That earned him a lucrative four-year contract extension, but many viewed it as a risk, saying that he’ll never perform as well as he did last season. Well, Tannehill silenced all of those critics in 2020.

Tannehill has thrown for 3,482 yards, 31 touchdowns and five interceptions on a 66.5 completion percentage, leading the Titans to a 10-4 record and the lead in the AFC South. Those are some Pro Bowl-caliber numbers but didn’t crack the top three.

Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills understandably made the team due to their MVP performances 15 weeks into the season. But the final spot went to Deshaun Watson of the Houston Texans. We’d envision coaches and players placed Watson over Tannehill due to his advantages in passing yards (4,134 yards) and completion percentage (69.9), all while having a lackluster supporting cast. We’ll give him that.

The AFC has some great quarterbacks, making it very difficult to make the Pro Bowl if you’re not a Mahomes or Watson. Yet, we think Tannehill should’ve gotten the honors.
