The New Jersey Devils have announced Prudential as their new helmet sponsor and there sure is differing opinions among the fanbase.

With the NHL regular season now less than one month away, fans across the country can’t wait to see their favorite players hit the ice for what’s expected to be another thrilling campaign across the board.

This is the case for the New Jersey Devils, but it looks like we’ve got a little bit of drama to deal with leading up to the first game of the winter. That’s because the Devils have announced Prudential as the new helmet sponsor, but there’s a mix feeling among the NJ supporters out there.

There’s some preseason drama for the New Jersey Devils thanks to a new helmet sponsor

If you ask the fans of the team, some may think the new design looks pretty darn sweet, while someone else might not be a huge fan of the changes. That’s what we’ve seen early on via social media.

For the look good, play good crowd, the hope is that these new helmets will help the Devils bounce back in a big way this campaign. Last season, New Jersey finished in dead last of the Eastern Conference’s Metropolitan Division with 68 points.

In 69 games last season, the Devils were only able to come out on top of 28 of their showdowns. They ended up losing 29 games on the year, which was terrible to see for the fanbase. Looking ahead to the new campaign, there’s some excitement surrounding the team to be able to make some noise this year. Only time will tell if they’ll be able to turn some heads and return to their powerful ways NHL fans had grown so used to seeing.
