4. NFL Week 16 best bets: Pittsburgh Steelers +1.5

There is a bit of a what have you done for me lately attitude in the NFL and that is certainly the case with the Pittsburgh Steelers. A three-game losing streak after an 11-0 start is concerning, but people have forgotten that the Steelers are still a very good football team.

Even if you are worried about Pittsburgh’s offense, there is no question that the Steelers have a top-flight defense. That unit will keep Pittsburgh in pretty much every game and should be able to handle most competition, particularly at home, which is where the Steelers find themselves this week.

The 10-4 Colts are coming to town and the Steelers are getting 1.5 points, a sign of disrespect considering how well Pittsburgh has played for most of the year. There is no doubt the Colts are a quality football team but they have struggled mightily to get past the Texans in two of the past three weeks while quarterback Philip Rivers has a history of committing key turnovers in big spots.

This line completely flipped after Pittsburgh’s loss on Monday night, going from a three-point Steelers spread to one in favor of the Colts. Don’t overreact and take advantage of a rare opportunity to get Pittsburgh as a home underdog where an outright win does the job for you.
