NBA DFS Centers:

It sucks to pay that much for Anthony Davis only to have him lay an egg. It happened several times in bubble play. However, this is a matchup with Dallas that Davis should dominate without Porzingis to guard him.

Nikola Jokic was a load for the Clippers to handle last year and should be again. It helps that the offense often runs through Jokic, giving him a very high ceiling. Davis has the better matchup, but Jokic is the guy you should be able to trust more.

This is a smash spot for Bam Adebayo, especially considering that Bam routinely leads the Heat in minutes. He’s the one guy that’s guaranteed to get enough run night in and night out to pay for that price tag.

James Wiseman had a very nice debut, but it was against the Nets. It will be a little different against the Bucks. Still, his price is low enough to keep us intrigued and to get me to run him at least once.

DeAndre Jordan is relatively cheap for an elite rebounder, but Jarrett Allen is good enough to keep taking minutes from him. I avoided this situation most of last year and am inclined to do so again. Serge Ibaka looked much better for the price in the opener.

Tristan Thompson is an outstanding value play against the Nets. He wont eat a lot of minutes, but Thompson is good for around 25-28 minutes and will do hefty damage in that time frame in this one.

It appears as though Kelly Olynyk is going to be a very safe punt even if he has very little upside. However, if Olynyk keeps racking up 15-20 DraftKings points for the price, that’s not much to complain about.

NBA DFS core plays:

Cash games are easier on two game slates because you don’t need to take any big risks. This is still a tough cash slate because of all the high-priced stars on it.

Cash game staples:

Jrue Holiday, Bucks
Jaylen Brown, Celtics
Khris Middleton, Bucks
Kevin Durant, Nets
Nikola Jokic, Nuggets

Last year in most weeks the GPP options did so well that most of them could have been used in cash as well. That is the exception, not the rule. Some of these guys are cash game viable, but all are probably best used in GPP formats.

Kyrie Irving, Nets
Tyler Herro, Heat
Dennis Schroder, Lakers
Brandon Ingram, Pelicans
Montrezl Harrell, Lakers

Stacks:

Bucks
Clippers (GPP only)
Nets (GPP only)
Pelicans (GPP only)

Top value plays:

Jeff Teague, Celtics
Donte DiVincenzo, Bucks
J.J. Redick, Pelicans
Kelly Olynyk, Heat
Maxi Kleber, Mavericks
