Offensive Coordinator. Buffalo Bills. Brian Daboll. 1. player. 16. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

After Bieniemy and Smith, the other head-coaching candidate that is drawing a lot of interest in this cycle is Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. He has done phenomenal things on Sean McDermott’s staff up in Orchard Park. The Nick Saban disciple has brought the absolute best out of third-year starting quarterback Josh Allen. If Daboll leaves, Philadelphia could be where to.

Daboll had worked with Hurts in 2017 on Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide staff. His mentor McDermott has NFL coaching roots in Philadelphia on Andy Reid’s staff. If he believes Wentz can be rehabilitated, an NFL prototype similar to him would be Allen, right? Regardless, Daboll provides the offensive versatility and the mental toughness to succeed in a place like Philadelphia.

While it is not a certainty Daboll will be an NFL head coach in 2021, he either will be or will be the top potential first-time candidate entering the 2022 cycle. Again, leaving a great situation in Buffalo may be difficult. However, he may want an opportunity to lead his own team and prove he was the primary reason for Allen and McDermott’s success in the Bills’ recent rise to prominence.

By hiring Daboll, the Eagles will not be getting a guy who cares more about his visor and his hair than winning games, who will not write a book about how to win after winning a Super Bowl and will not challenge a completed pass that only went two yards down the field. He is no “Philly, Philly”, but Daboll may give the Eagles a better chance to win on fall Sundays than Pederson does.

If the Eagles fire Pederson, who should the birds replace him with ahead of the 2021 NFL season?
