3 quarterbacks Sean McVay and the Rams can replace Jared Goff with in 2021
By Scott Rogust
The Rams have the roster to be a serious contender in the NFC for years to come, but Goff’s inconsistent play has made it impossible for the team to reach its full potential. They need to make a big splash, and we’re going to use the suggestion made by Hall of Fame quarterback and FOX analyst Terry Bradshaw — trade for Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Detroit is dealing with yet another lost season, which means the Lions have wasted yet another year of Stafford. He doesn’t have the greatest protection at the line of scrimmage or the best wide receiver corps. With the team set to hire a new head coach and general manager, that doesn’t mean the veteran’s job is safe. The new head of the front office and sidelines may want to select their own quarterback via the NFL Draft.
Los Angeles could be a dream location for Stafford. The Rams have a stout offensive line unit and great passing attack weapons in Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and Tyler Higbee. Talk about an upgrade. However, it’s only possible if the Rams can somehow, someway find a team willing to take on Goff’s contract in a trade. If they can doso, the Rams should heavily pursue Stafford this offseason.
